The Raw Saffron Crop, also known as Lachha Saffron, which is procured from the three dark red threads of Mongra with a yellowish red tail which are found in the flower of saffron.
It has a strong, aromatic and pleasant but slightly metallic smell. It tastes bitter and is faintly pungent. Lachha Saffron contains more than 150 volatile and aroma yielding compounds. It is the world's darkest saffron in colour which has a strong flavour, aroma, and colouring effects.
